Both the Main Campus and the 9th Grade Center, each contain a complete media center with thousands of books and reference materials at your disposal.
When is the media center open?
• Main Campus hours are 7:15 am to 3:30 pm
• 9th Grade Center hours are 7:15 am to 2:45
pm
• You may come in before and after school and
at lunch without a pass.
• During the regular school hours, a yellow library pass is required from your teacher.
How do I find a book?
Look up a book by author, title or subject in the OPAC.

When I still can’t find a book, what should I do?
Ask a member of the media staff for help. They can help you interpret
the information on OPAC and help you locate the book you want.
What may I check out?
All books except reference books.
How do I check out a book?
Bring the items you want and your ID card to the circulation desk. You
must have your ID card to check out a book!
How many books may be checked out at one
time?
Main Campus - 4 items.
9th Grade Center - 3 items.
How long may I keep the items I check
out?
2 weeks for books
Any item may be renewed 1 time.
Where do I return the items I’ve
checked out?
Everything should be returned to the book drop that is in the front
of the Media Center's circulation desk.
How will I know if I have overdue library
materials?
An overdue slip will be sent to you through your English teacher.
Do you charge overdue fines?
YES! Overdue fines are 10 cents per day per book. Be especially careful
when you have more than 1 item checked out because the fines multiply
quickly!
May I check out more books if I have late
books?
NO. If you have any overdue books or fines, your account must be cleared
before any more materials may be checked out.
What happens if a book gets lost or damaged
while I have it checked out?
YOU are responsible for anything you check out in your name. If the
item gets lost or damaged, you must pay for the cost of replacing it.
Please do not check out anything for a friend!
Do you have internet access?
• Yes. All computers have access
to the internet. However, all internet work MUST be school related.
• Sending or receiving e-mail
is not permitted.
Anything else I should know?
• Printing from the computers
is 10 cents per page for black and white. Color printing is 25 cents
per page.
• ID cards are made and distributed
by the media center on the 9th Grade Center and by Mr. Hinson, in the
copy room, on the
Main Campus. The first card is given to you
free. Take care of it! Lost or damaged cards must be replaced and replacement
cards are $5.00.
• Any materials leaving the
media center which have not been checked out will set off the alarm
and will be treated as theft.
• Students using the internet
for purposes other than school work will not be permitted on the computers
for a minimum of 1 week as a consequence.
